Kurdish Areas sends 11 Kurdish Female representatives in Turkey's elections into Parliament

The new Turkish Parliament will see a higher number of women deputies than the previous one. In 2007 the women deputies were 50. Yesterday's results show that this time 78 women will enter parliament.

The ruling AKP (Justice and Development Party) has elected 45 women deputies, the main opposition party, CHP (Republican's People Party) 19, the nationalist MHP (National People Party) 3.

The Kurdish Labour, Democracy and Freedom Block will send 11 women to parliament out of its 36 deputies.
The Kurdish Block female deputies are: Sebahat Tuncel, Pervin Buldan, Aysel Tuğluk, Leyla Zana, Nursel Aydoğan, Emine Ayna, Mülkiye Birtane, Ayla Akat Ata, Gültan Kışanak, Selma Irmak, Gülseren Yıldırım.
