protests of the residents of Kamyaran and Sine aginst suppression of Kurds by the Iranian Government

Kamyaran: Tonight from 10:30 PM the city of Kamyaran was the scene of a big and widespread popular protest against the recent wave of repression and suppression in Kurdistan. The regime’s security forces rushed to the scene and attempted to attack the demonstrators and a number of clashes between the forces and people ensued. As a result of the subsequent clashes between regime’s forces and protestors two banks, National and Farmer banks, sustained heavy damages. The regime has announced martial law for the city. Yet sporadic demonstrations and chanting anti-regime slogans is continuing. The regime has brought Special Forces from Kermashan to Kamyaran. Today is the second day of widespread protests in the city.

Sanandaj: Last night and today the city of Sanandaj, in the neighborhoods of Gafoor and Sahrif-Awa, was the scene of localized demonstrations in protest against militarization of the city and arresting and harassing of the city residents. Also today a huge number of people participated in the funeral of Zanyar Ashyani who was killed in the recent clashes with the regime forces. His family was able to retrieve his body after paying a hundred thousand Toman ($130.00, months worth of hard work) to the regime forces. In all of these demonstrations the participants insisted their demands of freeing all the arrested, bringing to justice to perpetrators of the recent attacks, …  to be met.
Popular unrests in these cities indicate the continuation of the new struggle for freedom and democracy in Kurdistan. Komala, as always, does its best to expand and actively participate in organizing the struggle until the demands of this wave of struggle is met.
