Ahmad Turk : Kurds will create their own alternatives if all doors shut

Addressing tens of thousands of people at the "constitutional democratic solution to the Kurdish problem" meeting at Diyarbakir Station Square, DTK Co-Chair and BDP MP Ahmed Turk remarked that the Kurdish people are engaged in a freedom struggle in a critical process, adding that this struggle, the people's power and fight will be seen and recognized by everyone.

Pointing out to YSK's decision to strip off Hatip Dicle of his seat at the parliament, Turk said; "We promise here to continue our struggle up to the end; either Hatip Dicle will be by us or we will be by him".
Referring to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statements that the block deputies will go to the parliament like lambs, Turk said; "This people went through tortures, murders, cruelty and repression. If your threats were scaring us, this people wouldn't be here today. Your threats will only give us strength."

Stressing DTK's work and the importance of the weekly meetings of the assembly in Amed/Diyarbakir, Turk continued as follows; "We are going through an important process. We will make significant decisions in Kurdistan. Despite our insistence on democratic politics and all our efforts given for this purpose for many years, we were taken out of the parliament and put in jail. Our parties were closed and our deputies were stripped off of their legal mandate many times. We will stay here and not go to the parliament unless we discuss the people's problems to find a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem. However, if we observe any efforts towards a democratic solution, we will contribute to the process."

KURDS HAVE ALTERNATIVES

"Everybody should take over responsibility to form the Kurdistan Assembly all together. We promised our people to create the Kurdistan Assembly and we will stand behind our word till death. We will stand by our people and move with them in this process."

Remarking that Kurds are ready for peace, Turk said; "The Kurdish people will create their alternatives if the doors to peace are closed. This must be known in this way. We are giving a fight for humanity, not for the Kurdish people alone. We are giving a struggle to enable a freedom of expression for all thoughts, beliefs and cultures."

Turk ended his speech with a verse by well-known Kurdish poet Cegerxwîn; "We would rather to the heaven freely than to go to the heaven with the thanksgiving of someone else."
