Kemal Sherifi, Kurdish political prisoner on 33rd day of hunger strike in Iranian prison


Kemal Sherifi a Kurdish political prisoner held in Minab Detention enters 33 days of his hunger strike and his heath condition is reported to be at a life threatening state.
To protest against the miss-treatment of the political prisoners and the horrendous prison conditions, Kemal Sherifi staged a hunger strike 33 days ago.
After 33 of hunger strike, the prison’s officials have not responded to the demands of Mr Sherifi and he is reported to be determined in sustaining his hunger strike.
According to the news leaked out of prison Mr Sherif had been subjected to tortures and sustained beating while he launched the hunger strike.
Kurdish political activist and journalist, Kemal Sherifi was tried in show trial on 2008 and charged with acting against the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment of which he has served 3 years.
Three other Kurdish political prisoners Enwer Xizri, Kamran Shexi and Seyd Ibrahim Seydi are entering their 30th day of hunger strike in Rejaishahir prison of Karaj city.
These prisoners of conscious had been held in compartment number 350 in Ewin House of Detention in Tehran. But they were transferred to Rejaishahir prison and accommodated along with the criminal prisoners.
It should be noted that one of their demands is to separate them from the criminal prisoners and put them in the section allocated for the political prisoners. The prison officials have refused to meet their demands and still keeping them with criminal prisoners.
